Ultimately doing the right thing means swallowing your pride and saying sorry.

There is a sense of healing on both sides with that one simple word. Though, for some reason, men over 40 tend to have trouble apologising. Admission of any wrong doing affects the male ego like nothing else. We are like wounded beasts that retreat to the shadows licking our paws when we take flack for our actions. The only good thing with this type of remorse is that we overcome the first hurdle by apologising in the first place. This can often strengthen our character which can surely then guide us toward the path to become the men we would ultimately like to be.

To recap: Say sorry. It’s one big word.
