The Room

The Room

The wall was and is white. The carpet stained with feet shrouded by worn out shoes. In the distance some noise rises and falls fast. This room has decadent memories. Just not mine.

A cruel brush of Air

A cruel brush of Air

The turgid brush of air against the prickled skin makes cold the rush of blood. Sharpened claws dull the suggestive brows in adolescent men left for fails of fancy. Whimsy drops and rises in a room filled with torn scraps of words lying on the carpeted floor. A fallen sentiment twists it’s way on a light breeze beyond the last opened window. The night begins to drape it’s mood across the throng so gently. Men leave quickly and women gape…

Wilson Pickett

Wilson Pickett

Cold permeates the inside of the house. Sudden movements stir a dormouse feasting in the corner of the floor. The meniscus of water in the cup gives tiny tremors with nearbye steps of some unknown thing in the darkened room next door. She wanders the hall in sulken pose and constant grimace. Hating, watching and waiting, she loathes all but boyish men. The shroud she left with still clung around the neck. A loss felt through this world and the…

Moonlit mornings across the lake

Moonlit mornings across the lake

The water sits still under the moist fog that moves indecently from shore to shore on the ancient lake. Willowed branches almost touching the dark wet fill of the big drink. A dog barks somewhere distant and bats fill the looming sky as if to mourn those yet to leave us. This place once had hope and promise but now harbours mournful displeasure since the day she first came. There will never be a place like this again, she has…

Pertinant

Pertinant

Pertinant or so it would seem. The brittle connection between two uninhibeted men does often show a vice less woven. Though the synapsis of all that is passed can be be forever unseen with a tweak or two.

Midnight people

Midnight people

Dusk slipped away unnoticed. The dark hastily arrived with a group of kin. Sceptred souls stood fastened to the cold stone walls. The distant screams of animals in a nearbye shed sent prickly shivers through all. Visions of saintly beings in successional blinks offered slim hope. Though dawn shortly comes as a saving grace.

How far is here

How far is here

The sweet shrill of the dancing wind amidst the clutter outside my window. The loose fragments of my listless day sitting nervous atop my mind’s eye. Outside tempts my curiosity and nothing else. A venture marshalled by my curtness and arrogance for it’s unique bedfellow. Failure is now fast becoming my only choice.

Sharpened

Sharpened

The day has been put to the side. Light is scarce as darkness creeps across the matted path. Listless gawpers form a circle around the once condemned. In amongst the mocking grins a man will rise and fall again. Full of heart and courage but carrying only childish things. Other so called men were at once felled and did bleed atop garish green meadows. Their sleeping only beckoned early death.

Turner’s pass

Turner’s pass

Lifted further toward shore. Each wave bigger than the last. Grains of sand awash our feet. The pebbles dance and our heels throb in the evening sun. Night peeks around the dunes nearbye. The warmth of earlier kisses touch a breeze. Under whisps of beachfire smoke we sing. No plans for the morn as we stumble to bed. Days spent in amongst our friends of youth. Cherished moments lost on shallow minds. Unrequited yearning and loss, feelings we haven’t learned….

A lack of courtesy

A lack of courtesy

Babbling curds of lush upon unscathed stone. A river washes away all that once was. For tomorrow brings judging looks from the defiled and spent. The grace given from those with Mercy is the most cherished gift. Tread lightly when amongst the restless that walk along the halls guarding those that can finally sleep.
